Our Story
Before mass production changed the way we decorated our homes, Indian celebrations were deeply connected to handmade traditions. Diyas were shaped by hand, festive décor was created by local artisans, and every celebration carried the warmth of human craftsmanship.
Gaurajj was born from a desire to bring that connection back.
Founded by Bindu Mehta, Gaurajj grew from her deep commitment to nature and more than 20 years of experience in social and environmental work. She envisioned a way to make festive and spiritual décor more traditional, meaningful and environmentally conscious.
The journey is also about people. Gaurajj empowers 10 women from Seva Bharti by providing hands-on training and employment in this traditional craft. Guided by Bindu, these artisans shape every piece by hand, turning natural materials into products that carry both cultural meaning and human stories.
